First session

Design an imaginary place. It can be a cafe, a shop, a lobby, a playground, a hospital room, etc—anything relatively small, not necessarily enclosed or inhabited.

During the first session come up with as many places and ideas as you can, as usual try to exhaust your imagination.

For the second session you don't need to bring more than one place, but that place should be thoroughly designed. Since there are no clear definitions, make sure you encorporate at least three distinctly illustrated elements. They can be:

Feel free to imagine extravagant interiors beyond any conceivable budget, or pick an existing space and use its layout. If there are doors and columns, try to use them in your design, along with awnings, counters and other minor elements that add to the overall atmosphere.

Second session

Create at least one comprehensive mock-up of the space and pick other elements that can give the viewer a better idea of the place. Don't simply copy-paste something from the large picture—see how you can expand on the idea. The finals for this assignments don't have to have the same level of finish: for instance, the main drawing can remain sketchy, while a mural can be fully-finalized. As an another example, you can create a densely designed space with lots of elements, all drawn loosely, or you can make a simple sparse environment, where each element is in full detail and finish. You can even use elements of looping animation to make it more lively.

In terms of style, it doesn't have to look like an architectural mock-up—you are welcome to try isometric views, stylized environments, or a mix of various approaches.
